Darcy Rose is an embroidery artist who has
called Prior Lake home for over 24 years.
In that time she and her husband, John, raised their son Patrick and
became an integral part of the community.
Darcy’s business, Name Sake Embroidery,
began in 1997 in her home. Her
embroidery work was quickly noticed by a growing number of customers and in
2007 she saw an opportunity to bring a strong focus to Prior Lake High School
“Lakers” apparel and subsequently move to a larger facility. This brought about the move of the business to
Name Sake Embroidery’s current location at 16173 Main Ave. SE downtown.
Her work with “Lakers” gear began with
letter jackets but taking a look around the store one notices the kind of
choices one would typically associate with the Vikings or Minnesota
Gophers. She listens to the kids to keep
her market insights sharp. “They pretty
much tell me what style to feature”, she said.
In addition to the letter jackets, customers can shop for men’s adult
hoodies, women’s hoodies as well as youth and adult flannel pants, athletic
pants and hats and mittens.
Her business goes into overtime mode during
the weeks leading up to Homecoming and Christmas. “Lakers” gear makes for a stylish gift for
students and parents alike, a reality not easily missed for anyone walking
through our community. This gear is
everywhere.
Darcy has a genuine passion for
embroidery. “There
is something about it that just sends me to another world...also, some of my
best ideas have come to me while stitching. In addition, the very act of
stitching itself, somehow irons out the problems in my brain and makes them
relatively smooth and easy to deal with.”
General embroidery is still part of her
portfolio as is sew on patches, digitizing, personalization and editing
designs. “We’re always happy to provide
quotes for people”, she said. Even
corporate embroidery is part of her offering.
“We love to do dress shirts and polo shirts as well as sweatshirts and
jackets.” Gift cards are also available
for those wanting to surprise loved ones.

Embroidery is your one stop shop for all Prior Lake Lakers high school letter
jackets and all other Lakers embroidered school wear. This is the one store in Prior Lake where
school spirit meets fashion sense. Darcy
Rose and her staff have collaborated to bring Laker fans the best sense of team
style in Minnesota.
