Rosie Posie is a fun, whimsical children’s rhyme. It also happens to be one of the most innovative and popular retail gift stores in Prior Lake and with new mother and daughter co-owners Jennifer and Krista Thompson; it promises to be one of our areas most fun shopping destinations for years to come.
Area shoppers already know the store as a popular retail destination for home décor, jewelry, stylish clothing and other gifts. All of that, according to Jennifer, is simply continuing to evolve and become even more exciting. Given her considerable retail background going back years as a store manager, area and district manager, in addition to district merchandising manager for Gap, it would, indeed, seem promising things are in store for us.
Jennifer had taken some time away from the retail world to become a caretaker for her mom who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. She nods to daughter Krista and says, “It’s been a dream of ours to own and manage our own business.” Krista adds “watching my mom over the years gave me an interest and passion for retail.”
There’s a real synergy between the two making it evident that Rosie Posie will not lack for a shared vision and customer innovation. Consider for a moment the fabulous brand names featured in the store. There is Johnny Was, Big Star, Genetic, Eco Skin, Pete & Greta as well as the heavenly Lollia perfumes and lotions.
Jennifer and Krista talk enthusiastically about the new Rosie Posie addition of plus size fashions. “No matter what size you are, everybody wants to feel pretty and stylish”, she says. Looking around at a few of their selections, it’s pretty clear that they’ve made some outstanding buying choices. “We have a real love for what we feature in the store but our real passion is in creating relationships with the people in the community”, says Krista. “We genuinely enjoy meeting and getting to know our customers.”
Having grown up in Burnsville and currently residing in New Prague, there’s a warmth and down to earth presence that both of them seem to easily impart to shoppers. Away from the store, Jennifer enjoys watching HGTV and listening to country and 80’s rock, especially Prince. Krista has a preference for the comedy Friends, the popular drama Person of Interest and country music.
Rosie Pose has already enjoyed a degree of popularity in the community and that, it seems, is about to get taken to a whole new level.
