Why Leaders BRING Their "A" Game

How can someone believe that he is a leader if he settles for anything less than doing the highest quality, most impactful, and most relevant job possible? One can never lead in any form of meaningful manner unless he continuously strives to do more, and to make the organization he serves better and more sustainable! This means that leaders cannot afford to merely call it in, and do the same old, same old, unoriginal. safe things. Rather, every great leader understands that he must continuously and constantly BRING his "A" game, striving to do more and better, on an every day basis. While this may sound obvious, after over three decades of personally serving in leadership, as well as identifying, qualifying, developing, training and consulting to over a thousand actual or potential leaders, I have come to realize that we rarely end up witnessing individuals who do so.

1. Bringing one's finest efforts must begin with evaluating, considering and basing the approach on enhancing benefits in both an actual, as well as perceived manner. Truly leading necessitates that someone's beliefs continuously aim towards improving the experience of constituents, supporters, and other stakeholders.

2. Others look towards their leaders and hope for and expect that they will constantly be reliable and responsible. Regardless of how well intentioned someone may be, unless their actions are perceived as being relevant, realistic and reasonable, as well as rational. Great leaders relate their rationale in a positive and motivational manner.

3. What are your major and most essential ideologies that propel you forward to make a real difference? How impactful are your intents in bringing forth policy and procedures, as well as action that make the most positive difference for your supporters? Have you committed to do so with absolute and thorough integrity?

4. Following a specific approach that best serves the niche of one's organization is the only way to truly proceed in a needs - oriented manner. How often do pseudo - leaders opt to merely use the one size fits all approach, instead?

5. When one leads with the intention and mindset of generating goodwill, he potentiates his ability to better get others involved. Never settle for merely being okay, but rather aim for greatness.

6. The real reason for doing these above actions is to best BRING one's "A" game! Understand that this can only become reality, and thus truly significant, when it commences with the attitude to do and be more and better!

The more one wants to be his personal best, the truer he is to the above principles. Never permit yourself to settle for good enough!
